About Best-Lodgings.Com

Best-Lodgings was designed by a lodging professional for lodging professionals. Ken Komenda graduated from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration and has more than thirty years experience in the lodging industry (including managing a 19 room inn, 55 and 96 unit motels, a 475 room hotel and two five star resorts in the West Indies).

Mr. Komenda took over management of a 19 room property in Hyannis, MA (Cape Cod resort area) and has increased its profitability by:

  • Establishing the inn's first web site
  • Canceling printed media advertising (including a brochure)
  • Marketing exclusively on the Internet
    • In 2002, his site, http://www.harborhouseinn.net received over 1.4 million hits giving his property 56,000 unique visits!
  • This has resulted in
    • 2 years in a row of >30% (each year!) increase in revenue
    • Enabling the inn to increase its average daily rate by 74% in the two years

Mr. Komenda combined his lodging and Internet experience in the implementation of Best-Lodgings.com with Mr. Mark Spatz. Mr. Spatz, the developer and owner of more than six different e-commerce enterprises, developed the web site itself. The secret of Best-Lodgings' success is due to the unique software developed by Mr. Spatz. This enables our members to have the ability to change their listing and property description from their own computers as often as they wish.

The graphics of Best-Lodgings.com were developed by Ms. Christine Lemay of Morningstar Design of Falmouth, Massachusetts; one of southeastern New England's premier web site designers and graphic artists.

In addition to our lodging directory, Best-Lodgings offers the following services for the owners/managers of lodging properties:
